Mid-America Trucking Show to remain in Louisville
The Mid-America Trucking Show — Louisville's largest annual trade show — is staying in the city through at least 2020.
Local government and convention officials are scheduled to announce tomorrow that the show's producers have signed a 10-year contract to remain.
A news conference is scheduled at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, March 23, at the Kentucky Exposition Center, where the annual show is held. This year's show is scheduled for March 25 to 27.
The trucking show has been held in Louisville every year since its inception in 1972 and is locally owned.
It ranked No. 1 on Business First's March 5 list of the area's largest conventions and trade shows, ranked by estimated economic impact.
The show is projected to give a $14.2 million economic boost to the city this year, according to the list. It is attended by an average of 65,000 patrons and creates 27,200 room nights for area hotels during its three-day run.
